Teeth Cleaning

Regular dental visits are important because they keep your teeth and gums healthy. Only a dental professional can remove plaque build-up from those hard-to-reach places that regular brushing and flossing can’t get.

Regular teeth cleanings provide many benefits to the average person’s oral health. While brushing your teeth twice a day and flossing them at home a few times a week can do wonders for your teeth and gums, our South Tampa dentist is aware of the dangers that you may not know when it comes to cleaning your mouth. Periodic professional cleaning must take place to assure your smile’s lasting health.

Our Whitening Options!

Opalescence Go is a system of pre-filled whitening trays containing whitening gel. The whitening gel consists of hydrogen peroxide, fluoride, and potassium nitrate. No molds are required, and it is ready to use right out of the box.

Our Custom Whitening includes 2 syringes of Opalescence whitening gel and custom-made whitening trays. Opalescence whitening gel contains 45%, 35%, or 10% carbamide peroxide gel and require a 15-20 minute session. Custom-fit whitening trays ensure the whitening gel is covering all surfaces of your teeth.

Zoom Whitening is a bleaching process that lightens the discoloration of enamel and dentin using light accelerated technology and whitening gel. The whitening gel’s active ingredient is Hydrogen Peroxide.  Treatment takes just over one hour. The procedure begins with a preparation period followed by 60 minutes of bleaching. During the procedure, patients can nap or listen to music. Some people experience temporary increased tooth sensitivity to cold during treatment. These symptoms disappear within 1-3 days after interruption or completion of the treatment.

Is teeth whitening safe?

Yes, research and clinical studies indicate that whitening teeth under the supervision of a dentist is safe. Many dentists consider whitening the safest cosmetic dental procedure available. As with any tooth whitening product, Opalescence is not recommended for children under the age of 13 and pregnant or lactating women.

Do the results last a long time?

By following some simple post whitening care instructions, your teeth will always be lighter than they were before.

Resin Fillings

Cavities are caused by excess sugars or acids in the mouth. Lifestyle choices largely determine the frequency or likelihood of suffering from cavities or tooth decay.  A dental filling prevents further decay in the cavity site.

Composite resin fillings are durable acrylic, similar in color to natural teeth. Thus, they are less noticeable compared to other types of fillings. They are also compatible with sealants, allowing multiple procedures in a single sitting. Composite fillings harden in less than a minute and bonds to your existing tooth, strengthening your structure. Another advantage to composite filling is if it is damaged or starts to degrade due to excess chewing or teeth grinding, we can repair it.

Teeth Extractions

There are times when it is necessary to remove a tooth. Sometimes a baby tooth has misshapen or long roots that prevent it from falling out as it should, and the tooth must be removed to make way for the permanent tooth to erupt. At other times, a tooth may have so much decay that it puts the surrounding teeth and jaw at risk of decay, so your dentist may recommend removal and replacement with a bridge or implant. Infection, orthodontic correction, or problems with a wisdom tooth can also require the removal of a tooth.

Invisalign®

Invisalign® is an innovative smile transformation treatment. A clear alternative to traditional braces. Invisalign treatment gently moves teeth to the correct position using a series of clear, removable aligners.

What Is Invisalign® Made Of?

Invisalign Aligners are made of flexible plastic– a patented thermoplastic material called SmartTrack® made exclusively for Invisalign treatment.

How Will It Straighten My Teeth?

We will scan your teeth using the iTero Element Scanner and create a unique digital plan that maps out the exact movements of your smile transformation. This plan will be sent to Invisalign for the creation of your unique clear aligners. The aligners are designed to apply the right amount of pressure at the right time to position your teeth.

Benefits of Invisalign

  • Healthier Gums: Properly positioned teeth are easier to brush and floss than teeth that are crowded or crooked.
  • Improved Chewing and Speech: In some instances, speech problems may result from poorly positioned teeth and jaws. Correction of the bite can help improve chewing and speech.
  • Decreased Risk of Dental Trauma and Abnormal Wear: Properly aligned teeth are less stressful on the supporting bone and jaw joints.
  • More Beautiful Smiles : Straightening your teeth with Invisalign will make you feel less self-conscious and more confident.

Invisalign®, the Invisalign logo, and iTero®, among others, are trademarks and/ or service marks of Align Technology, Inc. or one of its subsidiaries or affiliated companies and may be registered in the U.S. and/or other countries.

Bruxism & Night Guards

Protect your smile with an Occlusal Night Guard!

Why do I need a Night Guard?

Bruxism is a condition in which you grind or clench your teeth. You may unconsciously clench your teeth when you are awake or clench and grind them in your sleep. Common causes of bruxism are stress, anxiety, sleeping disorders, and malocclusion.

Bruxism may be causing you to experience these symptoms:

  • Teeth grinding during sleep
  • Facial or jaw pain
  • Headache or migraines in the morning
  • Frequent earache
  • Ringing in the ears
  • Frequent contraction of facial muscles
  • Sensitive teeth

One way to prevent and control symptoms of bruxism is to wear a occlusal night guard. Night guards protect your teeth throughout the night. Night guards help absorb the shock and pressure you experience when you clench and grind. They also protect your teeth from chipping and flattening over time. Since grinding of the teeth can lead to several dental problems, it is best to treat bruxism as soon as possible.

Relieve Your TMJ Pain With Therapeutic BOTOX®

There are a couple of treatment options to relieve your TMJ Symptoms. One of the most common is to wear a night guard during sleep. A night guard helps absorb the shock and pressure of clenching and grinding, effectively protecting your smile from chipping and flattening over time.

For those who need additional relief from common TMJ Symptoms such as jaw pain and headaches, BOTOX® injected into the masseter muscle, the muscle that helps you chew, can provide significant relief.  BOTOX® helps relax the masseter muscle effectively reducing involuntary teeth grinding and any associated discomfort.
